Paragraph’s LGBTQ Writers Salon
Author: Edit Team
October 7, 2019
This month, Paragraph is hosting their first LGBTQ Writers Salon.
Paragraph’s goal is to provide a space for LGBTQ writers to meet, mingle, and discuss writing in an informal setting. Their salons will start with an hour long roundtable discussion with a special guest followed by a mixer with wine and snacks.
Paragraph’s first guest will be editor Don Weise of Querelle Press. Don Weise has been an editor and publisher of primarily LGBT writing for the past twenty-five years. Among the writers he has worked with are Gore Vidal, James Purdy, Edmund White, Samuel R. Delany, John Rechy, Leslie Feinberg, Ann Bannon, and Christopher Bram. He’s publisher of Querelle Press and the author of two books about the Civil Rights Movement. His work has been recognized for distinction by Publishers Weekly, the American Library Association, and Out magazine. He lives in Manhattan.
This event will start at 6:30pm with our roundtable discussion with Don Weise, and will be followed by a mixer at 7:30pm, running until about 9pm. The LGBTQ Writers Salons are informal, inclusive, and supportive in nature with the goal of building a long-term sustained community. There will be complementary drinks (wine, coffee, tea, setlzer) and snacks, along friendly discussion.
This event is 100% FREE and OPEN to all LGBTQ writers and allies. RSVP here.
This event is hosted at Paragraph NY: Workspace for Writers by Ryan, an office manager and event coordinator at the space. If anyone has any questions about the event, please forward them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
