Sophie Kim is a lyricist-librettist, playwright, poet, and filmmaker. Kim was the 2018 Los Angeles County Youth Poet Laureate and is the author of SING THE BIRDS HOME. Kim’s original musical, ISCARIOT (a queer, Asian American, heretical history, set in Hollywood) will premiere at Harvard College in fall 2022. Kim was selected for the Theater Offensive Emergent Residency Cohort, and will have a work-in-progress showing in 2023. A PRAYER FOR MY MOTHER, which Kim co-produced, won Best High School Film in the 2022 Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at the American Pavilion at Cannes. Kim is a junior at Harvard College.
