Miami Book Fair’s Emerging Writer Fellowship is designed for previously unpublished writers who are working to complete a book-length manuscript during their 12-month residency in Miami, Florida. Each selected fellow receives a $54,000 stipend, one-on-one mentorship from a nationally recognized author in their genre, professional development opportunities, including teaching creative writing, and meaningful community engagement in Miami. There is no application fee.

For the 2026–2027 cycle, Miami Book Fair is awarding the Emerging Writer Fellowship for Prose (fiction or nonfiction) and the Mindich Fellowship for Jewish Fiction. Applicants must be actively working on a manuscript they intend to complete during the fellowship year.
