New York, NY – June 9, 2025 — Lambda Literary, the nation’s leading organization championing LGBTQ+ literature, is proud to announce that Jozie (J. Clapp) Clapp has been appointed as its new Executive Director.
J. Clapp brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ communities, especially BIPOC and transgender individuals. A dynamic fundraiser, nationally recognized speaker, and former Executive Director of the LGBTQ Center of Durham, J. Clapp is celebrated for her transformational leadership and commitment to equity, inclusion, and literary excellence.
Gary Mobley, Board Chair of Lambda Literary, shared the Board’s excitement about the appointment. “J. Clapp brings vision, compassion, and an unmatched commitment to LGBTQ+ storytelling. Her leadership is exactly what Lambda Literary needs as we continue to elevate queer voices across the country and around the world.”
