The Liminal Review is a new literature and arts journal that is looking for the things that are made in the in-between spaces: abstract feelings, bent encounters, your thoughts on anything.
The Liminal Review was founded in December 2020 by Alix Berber and Shauna Smullen. Two queer artists looking to carve out a new space for marginalized voices in Ireland and beyond. The project emerged from a curiosity for the concept of liminal spaces, transition, and temporality. The things that don’t fully fit anywhere else, the things that are made in deserted places – this journal is looking to give them a home. We aim to publish, in print, twice a year and are also working on releasing one “special issue” per year. The Liminal Review’s stated goal is to give special consideration to emerging authors/artists regardless of their previous publishing history. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists and writers, as well as those living with disabilities, are strongly encouraged to submit. Submissions are currently open until the 31st of May.
