The Velvetpark Residency is Open For Submissions

Velvetpark Residency is a project based, work-studio, awarded to an LGBTQ+ writer to complete a proposed project.

This residency is open to a creative writer at any stage in their career, who is not enrolled in an academic program.

At the end of their term the Velvetpark Resident will have the opportunity to publish their work through Velvetpark Media, a 501(c)3 multi-platform publishing organization.

The Velvetpark Residency is housed within an artist building on a floor of eleven working arts professionals in the Crown and Prospect Heights neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York. The Velvetpark resident will be a part of a creative yet independent community of writers and artists. The studio is a private and secure with 24/7 access. The resident will have access to all the amenities on the floor; kitchens, restrooms, and all utilities and wifi provided. This is a work studio only, no accommodations are provided with this award.
