We Got This: Black Writers on Imagination, Joy and Liberation
OutWrite LGBTQ Literary Festival (register here) is pleased to announce submissions are now open for a special issue of our annual literary journal—We Got This: Black Writers on Imagination, Joy and Liberation.
The issue centers the interconnected themes of Black imagination, Black joy and Black liberation. As we work to create a world where Black people not only survive, but thrive we must nurture our imaginations and foster joy along the way.
We want works that are celebratory, works that make us dream, works that show us what freedom is. Write about the art that soothes your spirit. Write about a moment you laughed so hard your belly shook. Write to us about a world without prisons, jails, and detention centers.
Writers who have work accepted to this journal will have an opportunity to read from their work at a special event this fall.
Submissions are open from July 25 to August 25 2020.
Compensation:
• $15 for and a contributor copy (pdf) for all reprints
• $25 and a contributor copy (pdf) for new poems and prose under 1,000 words
• $50 and a contributor copy (pdf) for new poems and prose over 1,000 words

10 Year Anniversary Journal
OutWrite Literary Festival (register here)is pleased to announce submissions are now open for the 10 year anniversary edition of our festival journal. Celebrating ten years of OutWrite, the journal will highlight work from OutWrite contributors past and present.
If you have attended OutWrite in the past, read at an OutWrite event, or been part of the team to make OutWrite possible, you’re welcome to submit your work for this edition. We are accepting submissions in the following categories: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
Submissions are open from July 25 to August 25 2020.
