This week, a poem by James Loop.

I shaved my head and wore only white tees.
I loved, quietly, a man who wouldn’t
will his love to me. I painted the literal
wall between us an unnatural green.

I catch that color sometimes
think nice things.

JAMES LOOP is a poet. You can find a chapbook, In the Apartment of Divine Love, online from Montez Press. An essay on Saturn, fruit, and shame is forthcoming in the journal Kaf II. He performs poems in masks around New York, and lives with his husband in Brooklyn.
