This week, a poem by Emily Brown.

borrowing self
against time

my vision clears
and it’s fifteen years ago

I always wondered
who opened the door

to my bedroom at night
who stood framed in that light

I was so sore
when in bed

my body grew
out of itself

if only I knew then
what I know
