This week, a poem by Gregory Canillas.

flowers

you never gave me flowers
not once
even though you received them
from me often
fresh, in full bloom
and fragrant
you never gave me flowers
although you sent them to
a friend to celebrate a housewarming
or some occasion like that
and to a woman whom you
forgot to pick up at the airport,
one night
