Kimberla Lawson Roby Remembers E. Lynn Harris

E. Lynn was not only a very dear friend of mine, but he was by far one of the kindest, most loyal and most caring persons I’ve ever known. He was also an extremely talented writer who knew how to tell the kind of stories his readers simply couldn’t get enough of, and the irony of it all was that E. Lynn loved, loved, loved his readers as much as they loved him and his work.  I have said on many occasions that if more people possessed the kind of genuine heart that E. Lynn had, the world would certainly be a better place.  Losing him has created a major loss to the entire literary community, but the good news is that his legacy will live on and will remain with us forever.

This July LambdaLiterary.org will be honoring the memory of author E. Lynn Harris, who passed away last year. As a part of our tribute, we asked his friends and peers to tell us about the important legacy of his work and his incredible impact on the community.
